$79,000 gift in memory of Madeline Koch-Mertion generously donated to Saskatchewan’s Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation

Inspired to make an impact on the future health care of children with diabetes in our province, a gift of $79,000 in memory of Madeline Koch-Mertion has been generously donated to Saskatchewan’s Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.

The fifth of nine children and only daughter to Jerome and Katherine Koch, Madeline was rasied on a family farm southeast of Wilkie. Madeline married John Mertion in 1968 after finishing business college. Health care played a large role in the lives of her family, with only one brother not receiving a diabetes diagnosis. With her kind and thoughtful spirit, it was important to Madeline to change the future of health care for Saskatchewan’s kids and families.

After her passing in December 2021, this memorable gift in her honour will support enhanced access to continuous renal replacement therapy at Saskatchewan’s Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital, helping children receive the best care possible.
