Children’s Hospital Radiothon goes province-wide

To celebrate the opening of the first-ever dedicated children’s and maternal hospital in Saskatchewan, Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Radiothon is going province-wide for the very first time on November 6 and 7.

Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Radiothon presented by CIBC Wood Gundy features 16 radio stations broadcasting live from the main lobby of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon. The event runs from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on both days.

By combining the efforts, skills and talents of more than a dozen broadcasting stations from across the province, listeners will hear inspiring stories from local families and help kick-off the opening of our hospital with our biggest radiothon yet. Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous legacy donor, donations at this year’s event will be matched up to $75,000.

Donations from the two-day event will support the babies, kids, moms-to-be and families across Saskatchewan who need specialized care as close to home as possible. The doors to Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital opened on Sept. 29, and now the Foundation continues raising funds for what our Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital needs to remain a world-class facility.

“As presenting sponsor of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Radiothon, CIBC Wood Gundy recognizes the need to help the children of Saskatchewan receive the best specialized care close to home,” said Kevin Punshon, Branch Manager, First Vice-President and Investment Advisor at CIBC Wood Gundy. “This fall, we were excited to see many families celebrate the ribbon cutting of the new Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital. However, our work has only begun. We continue to need your financial support so that all Saskatchewan families have hope for a healthier tomorrow. Join us by making a donation today. The children of Saskatchewan will say thank you!”

Saskatoon listeners can hear the Radiothon by tuning in to 98COOL FM and 600 CJWW, while 620 CKRM, MY92.1, and 104.9 The Wolf will broadcast for Regina listeners. Stations from Prince Albert include Power99, XFM 101.5 and 900 CKBI, while North Battleford stations include 1050 CJNB, Q98 and 93.3 The ROCK. MBC has listeners covered across various parts of the province. Fox FM and GX94 from Yorkton, as well as CJVR FM and 750 Beach Radio from Melfort are also broadcasting the Radiothon live.

“Your support at the first-ever provincial Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Radiothon means the very best programming is in place to ensure the highest level of care, regardless of a child’s postal code,” said Brynn Boback-Lane, President and CEO of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation. “This hospital is here when Saskatchewan children and families need it most and we will never stop striving for excellence in maternal and pediatric health care.”

Since the very first Radiothon 17 years ago, $12.6 million has been raised for Saskatchewan kids and moms in hospital.
