Garth Brooks Raising Funds for Saskatchewan’s New Children’s Hospital

Patients at Saskatchewan’s new children’s hospital will have a special space to play, learn, laugh, and relax, thanks to the efforts of country music star Garth Brooks and his Teammates for Kids Foundation.

Brooks and Teammates for Kids have partnered with the Children’s Hospital of Foundation to create a state-of-the-art therapeutic play area for pediatric patients and their families, which will be called the Child Life Zone at Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan. This 2,800 sq ft space (approx.) will join 11 other Child Life Zones across North America, including New York, Phoenix, and Dallas. Saskatchewan’s new zone will be the first in Canada.

“We are thrilled that Mr. Brooks and Teammates for Kids have chosen Saskatchewan as their first foray into Canada,” says Brynn Boback-Lane, President and CEO of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan. “The support of Teammates for Kids will allow our province’s children to have the very best within their new hospital and we are grateful for the support and generosity of Mr. Brooks, Teammates, and the people of Saskatchewan.”

Brooks will make special appearances at fundraising events in Saskatoon and Regina on August 26 to thank supporters of the program. While the country music superstar isn’t playing a concert, he will make a gratitude appearance for Saskatchewan donors who help raise funds for the Child Life Zone.

“This is a rare opportunity to enjoy some personal interaction with Mr. Brooks while helping Saskatchewan children and families at the same time,” explains Boback-Lane. “Through this unique charitable donation, attendees will be directly helping build a Child Life Zone and, at the same time, have the chance to check something extraordinary off their bucket list.”

Brooks is appearing at the two fundraisers free of charge. The Teammates for Kids Foundation and Mr. Brooks are also covering the overhead costs of both events, ensuring that the money raised goes directly to the Child Life Zone. With a maximum of 200 guests for each event, tickets are 50% sold. Priced at $5,000, tickets can be purchased by calling the Children’s Hospital Foundation at 306-931-4887. A 90% tax receipt will be issued.
