Get A Smile, Give A Smile: Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Week Returns
It’s a known fact that cookies taste better when they support a meaningful cause. Tim Hortons annual Smile Cookie Week returns September 17-23 to support Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation. At participating restaurants in Saskatoon, Martensville, Warman, and Davidson, a full 100% of proceeds from the $1 freshly baked chocolate chunk Smile Cookies will help Saskatchewan kids in hospital.
“It’s important for us as owners to support our local communities. We love Smile Cookie time when we get to select an organization we feel passionate about and give back 100% to support their goals,” says Danielle Robson, a Saskatoon Tim Hortons owner. “We believe the children’s hospital will be life changing for many families around Saskatchewan and we are proud to be a part of it.”
The sweet and delicious fundraising from Smile Cookies began in 1996 as a way to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital in Ontario and has grown to become a major fundraising event at Tim Hortons Restaurants. Last year’s Smile Cookie campaign raised $6.5 million across Canada. Last year in Saskatoon alone, over 65,000 cookies were sold. Since 2008, local Tim Hortons franchisees have raised $421,000 for Saskatchewan children and families in hospital.
“A Tim Hortons Smile Cookie symbolizes the smiles we see from kids in hospital when they are given the chance to rise above their health challenges,” says Brynn Boback-Lane, President and CEO of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Purchasing Smile Cookies this week at Saskatoon and Area Tim Hortons is a special way to help our province’s most vulnerable kids and families. With these funds, we can help support the pediatric needs of Saskatchewan so that our families can stay closer to home.”
