Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Radiothon Supporting Lifesaving Equipment & Programming

Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Radiothon is going province-wide on November 9 and 10 to help support lifesaving equipment and critical programming at Saskatchewan’s only dedicated maternal and children’s hospital.

This year’s Radiothon presented by CIBC Wood Gundy features the joining together of 25 radio stations from across the province. Over the next two days, listeners will hear inspiring stories from children, families, health care providers and sponsors from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm daily.

Funds raised from this two-day event will enhance provincial pediatric trauma care, improve epilepsy services and increase capacity in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital.

Donations will also be matched up to $150,000 by long-time, loyal supporters Gord and Barb Broda of Prince Albert. “We know that a sick child touches every single one of us.  No one in Saskatchewan is immune.  If you donate today, that means that you are personally going to help save a Saskatchewan child and that’s huge,” says Barb. “It will make a difference in people’s lives when they need it most,” adds Gord. Listeners will also have the exciting opportunity to triple their donation, thanks to numerous power hour sponsors.

Saskatoon listeners can hear the Radiothon by tuning in to 600 CJWW and 96.3 CRUZ FM on both days, or 650 CKOM and C95 on Nov. 10. Regina listeners can turn the dial to 620 CKRM, Play 92.1, and 104.9 The Wolf each day. Stations from Prince Albert include Power99, Beach Radio 101.5 and 900 CKBI, while North Battleford stations include 1050 CJNB, Q98 and 93.3 THE ROCK.  Meadow Lake’s 102.3 CJNS and Missinipi Broadcasting Corp are also participating. Fox FM and GX94 from Yorkton, as well as CJVR FM and 750 Beach Radio from Melfort are also broadcasting the Radiothon. Listeners can also tune into 107.5 Bolt FM in Humboldt, 800 CHAB in Moose Jaw and Country 104.9 FM in Kindersley. The Eagle 94.1 FM in Swift Current, Cat Country 98.1 FM in Assiniboia, and AM 1190 Radio in Weyburn are also broadcasting the event.

“Every day children walk through Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital’s doors requiring health care treatments. From cancer to broken bones, ever child has a unique need, which is why our provincial radiothon is so important. Raising dollars to give children and their families the hope, equipment and treatments they need is a privilege and like our own health, this is a priority that we want to ensure is fulfilled,” said Brynn Boback-Lane, President and CEO of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Since the very first Radiothon 19 years ago, more than $13.94 million has been raised for Saskatchewan moms-to-be and kids in hospital.
