MNP Partners donate $277,000 to support critically ill Saskatchewan kids

MNP Partners from across the province have come together to support some of the most seriously injured and sickest young patients in Saskatchewan.

MNP Partners have generously donated $277,000 to Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation to support care within the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital, which is the only one of its kind in Saskatchewan.

In recognition of their generous gift, two patient isolation rooms and a shared anteroom in the PICU will be named in honour of MNP. The PICU, located on the second floor of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital, is an area specializing in the constant care, observation and specialized monitoring of critically ill infants, children and teenagers.

As COVID-19 has highlighted the need to protect those with compromised immune systems, these spaces help keep children and families safer in hospital. For children at risk of transmitting infection or highly susceptible to the threat of infection, isolation rooms provide the highest level of protection. Specialized ventilation systems and barrier protections stop air from entering or exiting the room, while an attached anteroom balances airflow and provides a controlled area for health care workers and family to wash their hands and suit up before entering the patient room. These highly specialized patient rooms offer the most comfortable environment possible, providing ample space, and peace and quiet for a comfortable night’s sleep.

“Our MNP team is proud to give back to the communities that we are a part of. With offices, team members, and clients all around Saskatchewan, our partners knew it was vital to help support Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital vision. We’re very fortunate to now have this amazing facility and vital resource that will help families from across this great province that we all call home,” said Byron Mack, CPA, CA and MNP’s Regional Managing Partner for North Saskatchewan.

MNP Partners support various philanthropic initiatives in their communities across Saskatchewan. MNP’s gift is a meaningful contribution, as it represents personal donations from Partners to support the only dedicated maternal and children’s hospital in the province. This donation was possible through MNP’s partnership with the Saskatoon Community Foundation and the South Saskatchewan Community Foundation.

“Thank you to each and every MNP Partner across our province for supporting kids and families in the same communities where you live, work and raise your own families. The way your team collectively came together to give back to critically ill Saskatchewan kids in hospital shows how your firm is built on several core values, including supporting your community and valuing teamwork. Your group of generous partners shows how working together can add up to make a big difference, and in this case, save little lives,” said Brynn Boback-Lane, President and CEO of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.
