Record-breaking Fundraising at the 2015 Children’s Hospital Jeans & Jewels Gala
A new record total was raised at the Children’s Hospital Jeans & Jewels Gala presented by Mosaic over the weekend. With a sold-out crowd of 715 guests, the Jeans & Jewels Gala netted over $200,000 and was capped off with an incredible challenge by Jeff Granberg, President and CEO of Park Derochie Group of Companies. Grandberg challenged the crowd to match his $25,000 donation and Bill and Marv Hood did just that, bringing the evening’s grand total to $250,000.
The candyland-themed evening featured a champagne reception, dinner, live and silent auctions, candy bar, and photobooth. Jeans & Jewels headline entertainment featured the return of the original award-winning Johner Brothers band, playing together publicly for the first time in over 13 years.
“We are always so amazed at the generosity of the people in our province,” said Brynn Boback-Lane, President and CEO of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan. “Thank you to our volunteer committee for creating such a special evening and to everyone who bought a ticket, donated money or purchased auction items. These funds will go a long way towards creating healthier lives for all of our province’s children.”
Funds raised at this year’s gala will be used to purchase current pieces of maternal and pediatric equipment and will support the new Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan, which began construction in September 2014.
The Foundation would like to thank our generous sponsors, Mosaic, FFUN Motor Group, TD, University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine, Colliers, Dream, Humboldt Electric, Tron Construction and Mining, Cameco, Bayer Crop Science, Loraas Disposal, KPCL, Air Canada Foundation, Handy Special Events, Linda’s Printing, SaskTel, Redhead Equipment and Crown Investments Corporation.
