Santa Lands at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Construction Site for Special Delivery

Santa Claus came to town to bring a little Christmas cheer to kids in hospital over the holiday season. Thanks to the team at Graham Construction, Santa returned for the second year in a row doing a fly-by on his big red sleigh attached to the crane on Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital construction site. Following his flight, he and his elves made their way to the Acute Care Pediatrics Unit to deliver gifts to waiting children. From Nintendo DS for the playroom to Lego, dolls, and Hot Wheels packages for each child, employees at Graham gave Santa a little help, raising funds, shopping, and wrapping over 50 gifts.

“Giving back to the communities where we live and work has always been important to Graham, but today is extra special,” says Colin Anderson, Vice President, Graham Construction. “We are so pleased to help Santa make this important visit brightening the day for kids, parents and staff.”

Santa visited children in the playroom and also spent time with children not well enough to leave their hospital rooms.

“This is one of my favourite stops to make,” says Santa Claus. “Seeing a big smile on the faces of children is just magical – especially children who are going through hardships. This is a special place, full of special children and I’m so happy I can spread some cheer.”

“This is such a special day for kids in hospital,” says Brynn Boback-Lane, President and CEO of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation. “From Santa and his elves to the Graham Construction team, we’re grateful to everyone for remembering kids in hospital during the holidays. This visit is a great reminder for us all how meaningful it can be to give back to children and families in need at this time of year.”

Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation’s “We Can’t Wait” capital campaign has raised $61 million towards a $75 million goal. Construction on Saskatchewan’s new maternal and children’s hospital is over 70% complete and is on schedule for a late 2019 opening.
