Santa makes a stop at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital

Santa Claus made a special stop at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital to help bring some holiday cheer to kids in hospital.

Santa left his workshop in the North Pole on Thursday and gave his reindeer a rest before Christmas by making a grand entrance on a STARS helicopter at the heliport on top of the hospital.

Santa then made his way to the Child Life Zone in Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital to visit the children and deliver gifts, thanks to the generosity of Graham Construction.

“We are very excited to help Santa deliver gifts in the new Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital this year,” said Tyson Snider, Senior Project Manager at Graham Construction. “It is very rewarding to see the hospital being used and we are thankful for the opportunity to be able to spread Christmas joy to the children who unfortunately have to spend Christmas there over the holidays. This means a lot to us and we hope to be able to do this in the years to come.”

From games, musical instruments, puzzles and more, the elves were hard at work ensuring each toy paired with each kid who sat on Santa’s lap. Kids also enjoyed other fun activities throughout the afternoon, including making gingerbread houses and decorating ornaments, which was supported by Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Those who were unable to leave their hospital rooms were also included in the excitement, as Santa and his elves made their way to each individual room.

“This marks the first Christmas celebrated in Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital and we are so happy to help bring a sense of normality and joy to these incredible children and their families,” said Brynn Boback-Lane, president and CEO of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation. “From Santa and his elves to the Graham Construction team, thank you to everyone who contributed to help bring smiles to kids who need it over the holidays.”
