Founded in 1992, the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation is a provincial charity based in Saskatoon that supports pediatric and maternal health services in the areas of patient care services, research, and equipment enhancements. The Foundation is a proud provincial partner with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Health, and the Saskatoon and Regina Qu’Appelle Health Regions in helping build and provide the enhancements for the new Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital, which began construction in September 2014.
Your Donations at Work
Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation supports current pediatric and maternal needs across the province through grant disbursements of approximately $1 million annually. These funds purchase state-of-the-art equipment, improve medical treatments, and help attract first-rate specialists and medical caregivers to Saskatchewan. Your donations also help provide family-centered care, and allow Saskatchewan’s medical community to conduct vital research and be innovative in providing the latest in treatment and procedures.
In 2016, the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation distributed $2,177,587 for current needs with 21% directed to equipment and technology, 19% to research and education, and 60% to patient care (this includes a patient care disbursement of $1,250,000 to Teammates For Kids’ Child Life Zone).
Taking Care of Families Today
We are pleased to work with the Air Canada Foundation Family Transportation Program to provide free-of-charge flights for a sick or injured child and his/her companion who need out-of-province medical treatment. The Foundation also provides for families currently in hospital by supplying playroom crafts, toys, and activities in pediatric wards across the province.
A Vision for the Future
With your support, we are committed to raising $75 million toward the new Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital to ensure that the right equipment, enhancements, research, and technology can be purchased and realized within the walls of the new maternal and children’s hospital.
As one of only two provinces in Canada without a dedicated children’s hospital, the new Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital will be a provincial referral centre for moms-to-be, families, and the over 200,000 children living in our province.
Relying on generous community support and partnership with individuals, businesses, corporations, service clubs, and other organizations, the Foundation is committed to being there for children and their families now and in the future.
We are proud to be the Saskatchewan member of the Children’s Miracle Network.
