Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan to be featured at world renowned Barrett-Jackson Auction

The world famous Barrett-Jackson Auction is about to be host to a Saskatchewan made and custom designed 1956 Ford F-100. This unique truck will be the only Canadian charity vehicle on the auction block, and the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan will be the proud recipient of 100 per cent of the proceeds.

Wheels of Dreams Snakebit

“Snakebit,” as the truck is known, is a result of the Wheels of Dreams project, a grassroots initiative first conceived by Industrial Machine and Manufacturing. With the support of the Ford Dealers Association of Saskatchewan and Ford Canada, the project has been taken to an international level and is set to take stage at the Barrett-Jackson Auction on Friday, January 17, 2014.

“This is a great news story for Saskatchewan and shows the unwavering commitment of Saskatchewan people, their creativity and support in building the new children’s hospital for our province through this ingenious project,” says Brynn Boback-Lane, President and CEO of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan.

“We cannot properly express our overwhelming gratitude to all of the community members who have gone above and beyond to create and build the “Snakebit” vehicle,” says Boback-Lane. “This truck and auction are beyond our wildest dreams, we’re so happy to be the recipients of this creative and inspiring act of generosity. It truly demonstrates the creativity and dedication of Saskatchewan people.”

With a truck so unique and a cause so worthy, it’s not a surprise that others are eager to get involved. Kiss bassist Gene Simmons and Saskatoon-native Shannon Tweed-Simmons are lending their support, helping to auction Snakebit. Many Saskatchewan car enthusiasts are set to attend the world’s greatest collector car auction to check out this Saskatchewan made truck, including Premier Brad Wall and Saskatchewan PGA golfer Graham DeLaet who is currently ranked 38th in the world.

“It is because of those who gave of their talents, time, and contributions that Saskatchewan will take centre stage to showcase the truck, the Foundation and those amazing folks who support our kids and families,” says Boback-Lane. “We’d love it for everyone to be a part of this historic moment for Saskatchewan, tune in Friday night to watch the auction live and cheer us on!”
