April 15, 2021 – June 15, 2021
Saskatoon to Regina
Frank Atchison of Saskatoon, SK will begin a walk from Saskatoon to Regina starting April 15th, 2021. He’ll walk about 5K per day along Hwy 11, ending the walk on June 15, 2021 in Regina.
On Frank’s walk, he will be seeking donations to benefit the Jim Pattison’s Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Shriners Hospitals for Children. The net proceeds of funds received during Frank’s walk will be shared equally between Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Shriners Hospital in Montreal. Frank’s walk is also a celebration of his upcoming 95th birthday on June 15th, 2021.
The event will conclude at the steps of the Saskatchewan Legislature on June 15, 2021 where Frank will receive his 50 year Shriners Service Pin. Frank wants all children to have hope and opportunity in life so they can succeed in whatever they wish to do. Sometimes there are medical obstacles that have to be overcome and Frank wants to make sure medical obstacles don’t stand between them and success. This journey will take Frank from Saskatoon over 61 days of walking, stopping at towns along Highway 11 to make them aware of what the hospitals do for the children as well as raise the critical funds that are required to make the hospitals as successful as possible.
Frank’s Walk will begin at the Masonic Temple, 1021 Saskatchewan Cr. W., Saskatoon at 10:00 am, Thursday, April 15/21. Well-wishers are welcome to see him off from the Temple where there’s plenty of parking space. Stay in your car during a few announcements and honk to Frank as he starts off to Walk for Children. Hurrah! to Frank!
