Provincial Service Group Supports Provincial Children’s Hospital
The Knights of Columbus (Council 1517) a provincial service group, holds an annual “Dream Lottery” that benefits numerous communities across Saskatchewan. This year, their dream will help to answer the dreams of many sick and injured children and their families, as Jim Yuel, Co-Chair of the Children’s Hospital Capital Campaign accepts their contribution of $500,000 from their lottery proceeds. This generous donation to the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan is dedicated to the upcoming provincial children’s hospital.
This extremely significant donation comes in addition to the $200,000 they have already contributed to this much-needed facility. “The Knights of Columbus believe greatly in the need for a children’s hospital that focuses on children’s health and keeping the family-unit together in stressful times of illness or injury. We are very pleased to offer our commitment to the Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan that will provide care and support to strengthen communities across the province,” says Reg Handfield, Knights of Columbus, Saskatoon.
“The Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan is truly grateful for the Knights of Columbus’ leadership and shared vision for a healthy and strong province. As the Foundation looks to the future and its imminent capital campaign for the hospital, this donation of $500,000 is a shining example of Saskatchewan people helping Saskatchewan people. We are so pleased to be moving forward with yet another show of confidence from the people of the province,” states Brynn Boback-Lane, President & CEO of Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan.
The Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan will serve children from across the province, offering leading edge health care equipment and technology, research programs and innovation – a provincial outreach component all with a focus on family-centred centre.
