🥳 Violet is ONE 🥳
On February 7th 2019, we were the coldest place in the world, but you warmed our hearts with your arrival at 8:42pm. A year has gone by in a blink and now Violet is ONE!
Your first year has been filled with many blessings, lots of purple, and we have already made so many great memories! You have shown us you are stronger than we will ever know and have faced some pretty big life challenges in your first 365 days.
For those who did not know, Violet was born with a condition called Metopic Craniosynostosis. This is where the 2 frontal plates in the skull join together before birth. We had been doctoring in Saskatoon all year up until her surgery on January 23, 2020 at the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital. Violet was in the very best hands having a Pediatric Neurologist and Pediatric Plastic Surgeon perform the 6 hour surgery.
We then spent 7 days/nights in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit where we truly were in the best care. Although the days and nights were long with many scary moments, we are so thankful to all the doctors and nurses who looked after our sweet girl and us.
So for Violet’s 1st Birthday, instead of spoiling her with more purple, we would like to give back to this amazing facility and ask our Friends and Family to consider making a donation to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital. This facility truly is a must needed blessing to Saskatchewan. Although you hope your tiny human(s) never have to experience a hospital stay, for those that do, I can’t express enough how phenomenal JPCH really is. We are eternally grateful.
