Miracle Story Alumni – Maverick

is raising funds for
2022 Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Radiothon presented by CIBC Wood Gundy

Maverick from Weyburn, SK took everyone by surprise when he entered the world. He made an early entrance after an induction due to his alarming low fetal heart rate and was quickly whisked away to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit upon birth. There he was placed on a CPAP machine as well as a feeding tube.

A month went by with no improvement. Testing soon revealed that Maverick not only had a heart condition but a lung condition similar to cystic fibrosis known as Primary Ciliary Dyskenesia or PCD. After three and a half months, Maverick was finally big enough to have surgery on his heart, which improved his health tremendously.

After four and a half months in hospital, Maverick was finally able to go home for the very first time! His big sister was so excited to see him! He continues to see many different doctors at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital a few times a year who all work very hard to keep him healthy.

Your support during this year’s Radiothon will help kids like Maverick receive the best care possible, right here at home!

$950 raised of $5,000 goal.
