Finley was born full-term and seemingly healthy, but questions began to rise when his parents noticed he wasn’t interested in eating. He was taken into the special care nursery after birth and began showing abnormal breathing patterns. Soon after, it was confirmed that little Finley had a heart defect.
He was flown to Edmonton for a unique and painful surgery that was an alternative to open-heart surgery. His recovery from surgery was mostly positive and his family went on to spend a total of 28 days between hospitals in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Finley will need future check-ups with his heart at the new Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital. His mom Amanda is raising funds for the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Radiothon in his honour. Donate in honour of Finley today!
