Nine-year-old Brody Weber was born with a congenital heart defect, which made for a difficult start to life. He has required two open heart surgeries, the first being at only three and a half months old. Unforeseen issues surfaced with Brody’s second surgery and doctors determined that Brody would need continual monitoring throughout his life. Although he is healthy and active now, it is very likely that he will need more surgeries in the future, and he will certainly be a regular visitor at the new Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital.
Just when Brody began to put his biggest struggles behind him, the tables had turned. Brody’s big brother, Caine, was diagnosed with TCell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in July 2019 after a large mass was found in his chest. Caine’s diagnosis brings a three-year treatment plan, but he is a fighter and is taking it day by day.
The Weber family now advocates for heart kids and cancer kids. Your support has helped Brody thrive despite difficult heart troubles, and now Caine needs your help. You can make a difference by making a donation to help kids like Brody and Caine access the specialized care they need during turbulent times.
