Radiothon Raises Over $400,000 for First Pediatric Surgical Suites
November 8, 2018
The 16th Annual Children’s Hospital Radiothon presented by CIBC Wood Gundy wrapped up today, raising $401,870.65 in just two short days. The 23-hour event was broadcast live on Harvard Broadcasting’s 620 CKRM, MY92.1, and 104.9 The Wolf from the lobby of Hill Tower II in Regina.
Donations to this year’s event will equip Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital’s dedicated pediatric surgical suites with IV Infusion Pumps, Patient Monitor Systems and Pediatric Defibrillators. The suites, with a capacity for 5,000 pediatric surgeries every year, will include integrated induction rooms allowing parents to be with their child while anaesthesia is administered.
“We are humbled by the generosity of people across Saskatchewan for their amazing support of children in hospital who face trauma or surgery, said Brynn Boback-Lane, President and CEO of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation. “With Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital opening in just a few short months, your generous donations will make all the difference in ensuring that our province’s first pediatric surgical suites will have the right equipment for kids in need.”
“From myself, and the rest of the management and staff of Harvard Broadcasting Regina, we would like to thank everyone who has supported this very worthwhile cause over the last 16 years,” says Jason Huschi, General Manager of Harvard Broadcasting in Regina. “We are excited and enthusiastic to see this vision become a reality.”
“On Behalf of CIBC Wood Gundy Regina, I would like to thank everyone for their generous donations to Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital,” said Kevin Punshon, Vice President of CIBC Wood Gundy. “In the fall of 2019 Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital will be open to provide further specialized healthcare needs for the children of Saskatchewan. You are an example of how donating and volunteering makes our province a better place. Today’s children and future kids of Saskatchewan thank you too!”
