Joseph A. Remai Family Donates $1,000,000 to the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan

Children in Saskatchewan diagnosed with chronic kidney failure will have a highly specialized Pediatric Hemodialysis Room in the new Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan, thanks to a generous $1 million gift by the Joseph A. Remai family.

“We are tremendously grateful to the Joseph A. Remai family for helping to ensure that children with kidney failure in our province will have all the support they need within the walls of our new children’s hospital,” says Brynn Boback-Lane, President and CEO of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan. “This generous gift demonstrates the kindness and compassion we have seen from so many in our community to help build a future of excellence and better outcomes for our children and families.”

Located on the second floor of the new hospital, this new space will be a comfortable, inviting environment for young patients to receive this form of renal replacement therapy multiple times per week.

“Raising a family and building a business in Saskatchewan has enriched my life,” explains Joseph A. Remai. “Contributing to the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan allows me and my family the opportunity to positively impact others that will require the unique services and equipment that will be used in this new facility. This province will become stronger through the good work of others; simply put, it is the right thing to do.”

To date, the We Can’t Wait Capital Campaign has raised over $50 million for the new maternal and children’s hospital with an overall goal of $75 million to ensure that the right equipment, enhancements, research and technology can be realized within the walls of the new hospital.
