Available Volunteer Opportunities
Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Radiothon is a two-day live radio broadcast airing on 13 radio stations across the province. This annual fundraiser requires volunteers to fill phone bank shifts, take on-site pledges, verify and process pledges and other activities (all generally during a 2-3 hour shift). Learn more about the Radiothon.
Over 650 guests attend our signature fundraiser each spring. The gala is well known for its fun and relaxed atmosphere, delicious food, entertainment and incredible live and silent auction items. Putting on an event of this scale requires a lot of support, and we rely on the dedication of volunteers to help with pre-event committee work, set-up and take-down, silent auction payment, raffle sales, guest registration, and the construction of decor items.
Occasionally, we need volunteers to help with general office tasks like stuffing envelopes, preparing information packages, data entry, answering telephones and preparing seasonal gift bags for kids in hospital. This work is on an on-call basis.
Dr. Marcus Wellbear is a friendly bear with a busy schedule! We are always looking for outgoing volunteers to wear our mascot costume at the many special events where Marcus is invited to come and play. Being Marcus is a great way to support the image of the Foundation. It’s a fun way to be imaginative, engaging and energetic . . . and a great excuse for clowning around!
