14th Annual Children’s Hospital Radiothon Raises $532,313

Live from the lobby of Hill Tower II in Regina, the 14th Annual Children’s Hospital Radiothon raised an inspiring $532,312.95 over just two short days. The 23-hour event, broadcast live on 620 CKRM, MY92.1 and 104.9 The Wolf, saw an anonymous donor step forward to match donations up to $100,000. Since it began, the Children’s Hospital Radiothon has raised over $4.4 million.

“With a growing pediatric population, increasing need right across the province, and construction on the new provincial maternal and children’s hospital well underway, we need Saskatchewan’s help now more than ever,” says Brynn Boback-Lane, President and CEO of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan. “We are awed and humbled by the support shown by the people of southern Saskatchewan in supporting our province’s children and moms-to-be.”

In addition to raising funds for the new Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan which will open in 2019, donations from this year’s event will help purchase two urgently needed equipment pieces:

*A Pulmovista 500 which will give pediatric care providers real-time, breath-by-breath analysis of a child’s lungs without causing pain or discomfort.

*2 Fetal Telemetry Units which will allow moms to move freely during labour, helping them cope with pain and reducing the need for medical intervention.

“CIBC Wood Gundy Regina is once again proud to sponsor the Children’s Hospital Radiothon,” says Kevin Punshon of CIBC Wood Gundy. “We would like to thank the many donors, including our clients that contribute to making it a success. Our Investment Advisors and staff are committed to providing the children of our province world-class health care and look forward to the opening of our provincial children’s hospital.”

The Foundation would like to thank our anonymous matching donor, presenting sponsor CIBC Wood Gundy, the many volunteers, donors, and families across Saskatchewan, along with K + S Potash, CP, Kelturn Drywall, PotashCorp, Viterra, Daytona Homes, TCU Financial Group, RONA, Affinity Credit Union, Capital Auto, SaskMilk, Air Canada Foundation, SaskTel, and of course, Harvard Broadcasting media partners – 620 CKRM, MY92.1, and 104.9 The Wolf.
