Chicken Farmers of Saskatchewan generously donate $75,000 to Saskatchewan’s Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation

Chicken Farmers of Saskatchewan (CFS) is proud to announce a generous $75,000 commitment to Saskatchewan’s Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation (JPCHF), bringing their total donations to $140,000.

Since 2020, this farmer-led non-profit organization has helped JPCHF meet the unique health care needs of Saskatchewan children and their families. This new gift will continue their partnership in helping keep families as healthy as possible, by helping fund access to priority equipment, programming and research at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital (JPCH) and throughout the province.

“(JPCHF’s) mission is something that deeply resonates with us,” said Frank Cuevas, Communications & Producer Programs Manager at Chicken Farmers of Saskatchewan. “As chicken farmers, we are committed to not only providing safe and nutritious food but also nurturing healthier families and communities. The work carried out by the Foundation aligns perfectly with our values, and we are excited to continue our support.”

CFS represents 68 certified producers that raise broiler chickens in Saskatchewan and produce fresh, safe, quality chicken for Canadians. Whether it be the food they produce or supporting JPCHF, working with their community to support healthy living is a top priority for CFS.

“We believe in the power of community and the impact it has on the well-being of families. Our ongoing partnership with JPCHF allows us to contribute to the betterment of children’s health and support the vital services provided by the hospital. We are proud to connect with and support our community, and it is through our contributions to this great Foundation that we hope to help provide the necessary health care to families during times when it’s needed most,” said Frank.

CFS’ gift will be honoured in JPCHF by naming a Nourishment Room, helping provide support to families within our province’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Saskatchewan’s JPCH. The PICU is home to the most high-risk patients from every corner of the province, with over 66% of patients from outside the Saskatoon area.

In addition, CFS will continue to inspire the province as a Power Hour sponsor during the provincial Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation Radiothon, as we raise funds while broadcasting on over 25 stations throughout the province.

“Our Foundation is so thankful for the ongoing support that CFS has given the kids and their families of our province,” said Laura Gawletz, Philanthropy Manager at Saskatchewan’s JPCHF. “Their generosity through this new gift will continue to inspire, making an impact not only at Saskatchewan’s Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital but beyond the walls, helping provide priority health care enhancements for children and their families in every corner of the province.”

If your company or employees are interested in supporting the innovation of technology, family-centered programming and ground-breaking research for maternal and children’s health care at JPCH and across Saskatchewan, please contact Laura Gawletz, Philanthropy Manager at JPCHF.
