Colonel Harland Sanders Donates $1 Milllion to Children’s Hospital Capital Campaign

Saskatchewan’s smallest patients are the recipients of incredible generosity this special September morning. With a $1 million contribution that will be designated to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the new Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan, the Colonel Harland Sanders Foundation illustrates its strong commitment to children’s care.  The Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan proudly receives this donation as part of the provincial Children’s Hospital Capital Campaign.

“Our Foundation is genuinely grateful for this amazing investment in the newest and most vulnerable members of our families, our communities and our province.  We sincerely thank the Colonel Harland Sanders Foundation for its commitment and heart-warming desire to make a difference for Saskatchewan babies and their families,” says Brynn Boback-Lane, President & CEO of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan.

Terry Donnelly, President of the Colonel Harland Sanders Foundation, in town for this momentous contribution, states that he is “delighted that the Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan will join the other 18 children’s hospitals in Canada, the US and Mexico who have been selected to receive a $1 million donation.”

Patients and families who have passed through the doors of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) know what an intensely unique place it is and although the staff provide tremendous care to babies and families with the resources they have, strengthening the family-focused care offered with enhanced equipment, education and training and patient care services, will impact Saskatchewan residents for decades to come.

Saskatoon’s Ron Young, Board Director of the Colonel Harland Sanders Charitable Organization Inc., reflected on his involvement with the Foundation, “ I had a chance to meet Colonel Sanders and witnessed his concern and compassion for those less fortunate than him.  It brings me great pleasure that the Colonel Harland Sander’s Charitable Organization Inc. is able to support a project like this new Children’s Hospital in Saskatchewan”

The Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan will serve children from across the province, offering leading edge health care equipment and technology, research programs and innovation – a provincial outreach component all with a focus on family-centred centre.
