CP Has Heart Share the Love Valentine Campaign to Create Extra Special Valentine’s Day for Kids in Hospital

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation and Canadian Pacific (CP) have partnered to make February 14th an extra special day for Saskatchewan children in hospital with the new CP Has Heart Share the Love Valentine campaign.

The campaign encourages people across Saskatchewan to create a Valentine card online at pattisonchildrens.ca. The cards will then be printed and hand-delivered to kids in hospital on Valentine’s Day. For each card, CP will donate $10 to Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation’s CP Has Heart campaign in honour of the 2018 CP Women’s Open in Regina, August 20-26, 2018.

“CP is very proud to partner with Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation for the 2018 CP Women’s Open,” says Keith Creel, CP President and CEO. “This is a natural partnership as CP is focused on heart health through our community investment program, CP Has Heart, and Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation is focused on helping the youngest hearts across the great province of Saskatchewan – a province that has been integral to our network for more than 130 years.”

The Share the Love Valentine campaign, in partnership with CP’s community investment program, is the first of its kind in Saskatchewan. The hand-delivered cards are a heartwarming initiative designed to give Saskatchewan people a chance to brighten the spirits of children in hospital on Valentine’s Day, who otherwise would typically be receiving Valentine’s Day cards at school or at home.

“For a sick or injured child to receive a special card on Valentine’s Day while they are in hospital, it gives them a chance to celebrate just like other kids and makes all the difference in what they will remember from their time in hospital,” says Brynn Boback-Lane, President and CEO of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Our partnership with Canadian Pacific has created a unique opportunity for the people of Saskatchewan to join together and make a child feel special. Not only that, but the dollars generated from the CP Has Heart Share the Love Campaign will go a long way in warming the hearts of Saskatchewan children and their families for years to come.”

During the CP Women’s Open taking place in Regina August 20-26, 2018, Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation will be the official beneficiary of the seven day tournament. Through their CP Has Heart program, CP will support a dedicated pediatric cardiology space called the “Frog Pod” in the new Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital set to open next year. The “Frog Pod” includes echocardiography exam rooms, a pulmonary function technology lab, an exercise challenge room, a regular exam room and a staff echocardiology reading room.

Those who are interested in making a donation towards the “Frog Pod” will have their donation doubled by CP. Through CP Has Heart, CP will match all donations up to $5,000 until the end of the tournament. Visit pattisonchildrens.ca to make a donation.

People across Saskatchewan have until February 14 to participate in the Share the Love Valentine campaign. Cards can be submitted by clicking the link here: https://pattisonchildrens.ca/share-the-love/.
