Community involvement has always been important to the Day family of Carnduff, Saskatchewan. Dennis Day’s parents, mother Vi and late father Tony, instilled the value of giving back to his community at a young age. “I want to help people like my parents have always done. Caring for the community is important in my family,” said Dennis. With his parents and family values in mind, Dennis Day announced at the 2022 Saskatchewan Oil & Gas Show that he is generously donating $250,000 to Saskatchewan’s Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.

The impact of Dennis’ donation will be felt across communities all over Saskatchewan. This gift will ensure continuous enhancements to equipment, technology, programming, and research at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital. Not only will Dennis’ donation contribute to keeping children and moms-to-be

in Saskatchewan healthy, but this donation will truly save lives.

“I care about everybody and that’s the way I was raised,” said Dennis about his reason to donate to Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.

In recognition of this impactful gift, a Treatment Room within Day Medicine and Pediatric Oncology at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital will be proudly named in Dennis Day’s honour. This specialized room serves children from all corners of Saskatchewan every single day as they receive vital care in their treatment plans, including chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and insulin therapy. Bright windows, room for engaging activities, and calming images provide a space for children to feel comfortable while treatments can last for hours.

“Dennis Day’s deep commitment to community, family and well-being are true Saskatchewan values; ones which the children and families from all four corners of our province are fortunate to benefit from. Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation is extremely grateful to Dennis for his generous gift to Saskatchewan’s Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital and the children and families who need its specialized services each and every day,” says JPCHF President & CEO, Brynn Boback-Lane.
