Knights of Columbus Saskatoon Council #1517 Achieves Gift Milestone with a $275,000 Commitment to Saskatchewan Youth and Families
With a dedicated focus of youth and families at the forefront for the Knights of Columbus Saskatoon Council #1517, a generous donation of $275,000 to Saskatchewan’s Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation helped fulfill a dream started many years ago.
As one of the first organizations leading the way in helping raise funds for Saskatchewan’s children’s hospital, the dedicated community leaders of the Knights of Columbus Saskatoon Council #1517 have gifted over $1 million toward the enhancement of pediatric health care in Saskatchewan to Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Over the years, the Knights of Columbus Saskatoon Council #1517 have helped children receive care in Saskatchewan’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) by supporting a vital procedure space, equipment designed to bring care close to each child’s bedside, and a private patient room with a dedicated area for a family member to stay overnight and support their child in hospital. In addition, their inspiring commitment has helped provide access to research and innovation connecting families to virtual resources, across the province.
“Knights of Columbus Saskatoon Council #1517 was very pleased that we were able to meet our commitment of donating $1 million to the children’s hospital, with this cheque of $275,000 we have now donated over the $1 million mark. Thank you, to all the members of Council #1517 for accomplishing this,” said Edward Frank, Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Saskatoon Council #1517.
“This impactful gift from the Knights of Columbus Saskatoon Council #1517 is driving transformational maternal and children’s health, research, and innovation in Saskatchewan,” said Brynn Boback-Lane, President & CEO of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Thank you to the Knights of Columbus Saskatoon Council #1517 and congratulations on reaching an incredible donation milestone. It’s because of dedicated community partners, like the Knights, that Saskatchewan kids and their families have access to the enhancements of care in our province.”
Knights of Columbus Saskatoon Council #1517 will be recognized at the million-dollar level on the Wall of Honour within the lobby of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital, inspiring families and health care teams every day. In addition, their support will continue to inspire the province as the presenting sponsor of the third annual Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation 50/50, kicking off this spring.
