Easton

Age: 10
Hometown: Torquay, SK
Condition: Farm Accident

Seven-year-old Easton sustained serious injuries, in a farm accident when a sprayer tire fell on him at the family’s farm site west of Torquay. The giant 1,300 pound tire landed directly on him and crushed him facedown on the concrete floor.

Easton’s two uncles were able to lift the sprayer tire off the young boy as his cousin worked to pull him out from underneath. An ambulance soon arrived on the scene and Easton was taken to Weyburn General Hospital.  He was subsequently airlifted to Regina General Hospital and treated in the ER, before being airlifted once again to JPCH.

Miraculously, none of Easton’s vital organs were damaged in the accident, though he sustained small fractures to his pelvis, fractures to the left side of his face and upper jaw.

The family spent more than a week at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon before returning home on July 15, 2021 with a large crowd of people waiting to greet him. Parents Lauren and Daniel say it was a miracle that saved their son that day.
